Anna Škodenko (1986) is a multidisciplinary artist, whose work is characterised by a lyrical and analytical approach to her medium and visual image. The format of the work depends on the conceptual frame, which she creates through textual writing and which is conditioned by a specific place, context and theme. In 2018 she was awarded with grand prix of Köler Prize together with Tanja Muravskaja.

Škodenko is always in search of new mediums and ideas. Lately she’s been interested in presenting art outside of the tradition white cube context and researching the essence of personal memories. She considers the residency programme at WIELS as a possibility to develop new ideas and evolving her artistic practice.

The participation of Estonian artists at the residency programme is supported by Estonian Ministry of Culture.
