Compared to the bold political and social themes of the past two exhibitions, the Estonian entry for this year's Biennale di Venezia has taken a turn in an intricate, postmodern direction.
While Estonia's 2011 entry surveyed the perceptions of women and the 2009 project explored the post-world-war landscape, the 2013 one - Dénes Farkas's photo-based project "Evident in Advance," organized by the Center for Contemporary Arts - is a maze-like structure that folds in on itself, with allusions to Wittgenstein and deconstruction of language.
